Choose the Solar Energy System That Suits You
Whether you own a home, villa, resort, or a commercial building, in Bali, Lombok, Jakarta, or anywhere else in Indonesia, we can help you with a customized solar power system to accommodate your needs!
Check out our Solar Panel Bali & Lombok Guide if you are located in one of these areas and would like to learn more.
Solar Panel Package I
On-grid solar system without battery.
Solar Panel Package II
Hybrid solar system with a small battery for power outages.
Solar Panel Package III
Complete hybrid solar & battery system with an optional smart control system.
All these packages are grid-tied and have to follow PLN net metering rules. Since May 2024 there is no feeding of surplus energy into the grid allowed. Hence systems should be sized to match your daytime domestic consumption.
However, adding batteries is easily possible and will allow you to
store surplus energy and consume at night, and
such hybrid systems are nowadays more affordable than ever!
Looking for an Off-Grid Solar System?
When you are unable to connect to the PLN grid, an off-grid solar system with storage batteries is the way to go. With our lithium batteries, you can say goodbye to dirty and noisy generators and inefficient and unreliable lead acid batteries! Our top of the range new generation LFP batteries offer 10 year warranties!
Different Solar Panel Types Available
We offer a wide range of solar panel types chose from, with various installation options: rooftop, ground-mounted, solar carport, integrated solar roof, and more!

Our Quality Promise - Guaranteed
Aside from the performance guarantee and product warranty mentioned above, we also offer the following warranties for our solar panels.
Solar Panels
Your Smart Energy solar panels come with a performance guarantee of 30 years* and a product warranty of up to 15 years*.
Your panels will maintain their performance at a maximum of 0,5% loss rate per year (max. 20% loss over 30 years).
In the unusual case that in normal conditions a lower output occurs, we will check your system for damages. If we can verify that the panels are indeed underperforming we can compensate by adding or replacing the panels.
*Warranty may vary depending on panel type.
Our Quality Promise - Guaranteed
Inverters
We work with several reputable inverter brands which offer a product warranty of 5 to 20 years.
Batteries
Your Smart Energy lithium batteries come with a product warranty of 10 years.
Installation
We guarantee the installation (cabling, mounting frames, etc) for 12 months, and will rectify any defects for FREE during this period.

Solar Panel Frequently Asked Questions
1. By using solar panels, does it mean that I don't need to use PLN anymore
It is possible to disconnect from PLN entirely. However, you will need a very big battery system which can be costly. Hence, most people opt for an on-grid system and stay connected to PLN.
You may wonder, why would you need PLN at all if you now have a solar system?
The reason is simple, solar panels only produce energy when there is sufficient direct sunlight. In Indonesia, that amounts to around 4-5 hours/day.
The rest of the time you would need PLN to supply electricity to your building, especially if you wish to run air conditioners, which consume the most power in most households!
It is possible to go completely off-grid, but we don't recommend it if you can still access PLN as off-grid systems will be significantly more expensive. If you want to have a backup during power outages, we can design a smaller battery system for you.
2. What is meant by solar net metering/selling back to the grid?
PLN used to allow you to feed surplus electricity produced by your panels into the grid. This process is called net-metering, but is nowadays not allowed anymore. Nonetheless, a grid connected solar system makes sense to be installed to cover your daytime electrical needs. However, such a system is still needing to be registered with PLN according to the law, who will install a special meter for this purpose.
For example:
-
Solar system size: 10kWp
-
Energy produced: 4.4 hours x 10kW = 44 kWh
-
Energy used during the day: 22 kWh
-
Surplus: 22kWh. To store this surplus electricity that cannot be exported to the grid, a battery should be installed.
Note that If you are connected to the grid are required by law to apply for net metering, and we can help you with this.
3. What is the difference between on-grid, hybrid, and off-grid solar systems?
In short, an on-grid system simply means that you will remain connected to the grid (or PLN in Indonesia). When the panels aren't producing enough power to meet your needs, your building will draw automatically from PLN.
A hybrid system means that you remain connected to the grid, but also have a battery system that stores your surplus electricity from daytime production, to be used regularly for your nighttime needs.
Whats more, the battery also allows you to run independently from the grid, in case of grid blackouts.
An off-grid solar system is completely disconnected from PLN. You will be relying solely on solar and battery systems for your energy supply. This system can also be coupled with a conventional generator for cost-efficiency.
4. Can I use solar panels as power backup during outages?
Not if you don't have a hybrid system with batteries. If you're connected to the grid (PLN) they don't allow you to use solar energy during a blackout for safety reasons, the system is automatically switched off when the grid goes out. To have power backup, you will need to add batteries. Contact us to help you design the most efficient solar & battery systems to suit your needs.
5. Do I need batteries for my solar system?
It depends on what your aim is. If you just want to use as much solar energy as you concume during the day, batteries are not a necessity.
However, if you want to have power backup for outages/blackouts OR are not connected to the grid at all (off the grid), then batteries are necessary. By using batteries, you can keep using the energy from your panels. Ask us how.
6. Is my roof suitable for solar panels?
The ideal roof for solar arrays is north-facing, with a roof tilt of 10-30 degrees. This is something to keep in mind if you're yet to construct your building. For each kW installed you will need a space of just under 5 square meters.
However, no matter what your roof is like, we can help you find the most suitable placement for your array. Simply contact us for a free consultation.
7. How long does it take to install solar panels?
Solar panel installation can take as little as 1 day for a small installation, and weeks for a bigger installation.
Once the system is installed, we will need to report the installation to the minsitry of energy so that they can come for a site survey. This process can take weeks. After that, we will have to apply for a solar meter/a reconfiguration of your meter from PLN, which can take another few weeks.
8. How do I calculate the best solar system size for my building?
There are a few ways to decide this:
-
Go for the maximum capacity: PLN doesn't allow you to install more solar panels than what your current PLN capacity is. For instance, if your building has a power capacity of 40 kVa then the maximum solar system that we can install would be around: 34-kilowatt peak (kWp).
-
Go for the best ROI: The way to do this is to only install the capacity that you will definitely use in order to avoid selling back to the grid. Why? PLN does not compensates any surplus solar power, so it's always much better to use your solar energy instead of feeding it back to the grid. We can help you calculate this.
-
Roof space. Of course, the size of your solar system would also be limited to the space available on your roof/other areas where you would like to install your array. Each kW would take up around 4.5-5m2 of roof space.
